BEST GREEN DRAGON ROLL I HAVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! This place never disappoints and always delivers. They bring complimentary miso soup, a salad and a choice in flavour of ice cream after your sushi. The vibe is very cute and authentic which I also love -- this spot is definitely North Yorks hidden gem and without a doubt overall 5/5 in my books!!

We were looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite with a new coworker, and I had been curious about Yoko for a while, so it seemed like the obvious choice.
We showed up just before noon on a Monday and the place was just starting to fill up. We were shown to what was essentially a private room separated by a curtain, so that was definitely a pleasant surprise.
A quick perusal of the lunch menu led me to the Sushi Lunch special, which comes with seven pieces of nigiri and a six-piece roll. (The menu doesn't specify what you're specifically getting.)
The meal also comes with the requisite salad and bowl of miso soup, and both of the items were good (though far from the best I've had).
The good-but-not-great vibe continued with the sushi itself, which is certainly better than the supermarket sushi I tend to eat way too much of but hardly ranks up there with the cream of the crop. The roll wasn't as tightly assembled as it could/should have been (i.e. each piece threatened to fall apart as I was eating), while the nigiri seemed much smaller somehow than is generally common.
I should also note that it's an almost comically tiny lunch for a price that seems inflated by at least a couple of dollars. (I was finished at least 10 minutes before my bento-box-ordering coworkers.) -

Came here on a Wednesday around 1pm with my mom and sister. We all got the sashimi lunch with tempera ($14.95) which comes with miso soup and salad. Miso soup was decent and actually contains small pieces of tofu. The salad had too much vinegar so it was sour lol. As for the sashimi, it was alright, not the most fresh in my opinion. The butterfish was also very cold (still kind of frozen). The tuna was kind of fishy to me. I think they also cut the salmon differently or removed some tendon since there were marks on it.
The tempera was alright. The batter didn't completely rise so it was very greasy. The shrimp was not fresh so it was mushy...The other tempera were pretty good taste-wise. The sauce was pretty good. This lunch box also comes with broccoli and potatoes which were okay. The potatoes are a good palate cleanser- thinly sliced and covered in mayo, it tasted rather refreshing.
Overall I personally would not come here for my sashimi fix because their pricing is average and the quality is not up to par to other places I've been to. This place is also quite old (it has that type of wooden smell...?) and the tables are sticky. What I did appreciate is the fact that they have the green bottle soy sauce which has less sodium LOL. I don't know why most restaurants still use the original because it's way too salty haha. -

I recently went to this restaurant for the first time this past Friday for a birthday party. The service and food was excellent (I had spicy chicken) and I had my first ever taste sake. (Warm) I will definitely return as I would very much like to sample other dishes on the menu.

The chicken teriyaki and salmon teriyaki tasted bland and dry. Bulgogi bento box was decent.
